Eagerly awaiting the upcoming mid-engined C8 Chevrolet Corvette, but wondering how much it would set back your sports car budget? Wonder no longer, because Chevrolet has just revealed pricing for the 2020 model, along with some more feature and content details of the new car.
For now, it's the LT models of the Stingray. Higher trims or faster versions are no doubt coming, but are yet to be revealed. Not that the base car looks to be any slouch. The 1LT base 'Vette will start from $67,998, significantly less than the $72,495 previously announced. For that, you get the 6.2L V8 in the back that puts out 490 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque and backed by an eight-speed dual-clutch auto.
Comfort kit includes eight-way power-adjustable seats, keyless start, dual-zone climate, cruise, power hatch, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, and an 8.0-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
2LT adds more tech, including navigation, a full-colour head-up display, and wireless phone charging. There's also a front curb-view camera and what Chevy calls an advanced theft-deterrent system. Power lumbar and wing-seat adjustments and a 14-speaker Bose audio system make up the comfort additions, and the performance data recorder in-car telemetry system is included.
3LT adds special seats with Napa and Mulan leather plus carbon-fibre trim. There is also leather on the rest of the cockpit including suede upper interior trim and leather door panels.
Finally, the option package most buyers will want is the $5,900 Z51 package. It adds a performance exhaust, adjustable-height suspension, electronic limited-slip diff, aero add-ons, larger disc brakes, cooling system modifications, and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires.
GM has a special dedicated concierge team set up to help new Corvette buyers make a decision on the new car and guide them through the process. Production starts later this year.
