The Hyundai Palisade arrived in Canada for the 2019 model year and has since proven to be an important part of the Korean automaker’s North American lineup. Not one to rest on its laurels, the automaker has now introduced a mildly updated take on the Palisade, which will begin arriving at dealers this summer.
The updated 2023 Hyundai Palisade, which was shown at this week’s New York International Auto Show, introduces redesigned front and rear ends, new LED headlamps and daytime running lights, different multi-spoke alloy wheel designs, and new auto-dimming exterior mirrors. The automaker says the restyled exterior offers some aerodynamic benefits, with the optimized front cooling area, rear spoiler and new rear wheel aero deflectors helping the three-row SUV to slice through the air more efficiently.
Inside, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade introduces different air vents, new ambient lighting themes, additional USB-C outlets and a redesigned instrument panel. There are also new features and options, including an available digital rearview mirror, heated third-row seats, heated and ventilated second-row seats and a new 15-watt charging pad, which offers faster phone charging than the five-watt pad in the outgoing model.
Power in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade comes from the same 3.8-litre V6 engine, which produces 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. A new Tow Mode for the all-wheel drive system has been introduced for 2023, which will hold lower gears for longer and reduce the frequency of shifting response to improve the towing experience.
While Hyundai has yet to share any photos, the 2023 Palisade will also introduce a rugged new XRT model, which will feature dark-finish 20-inch wheels, a redesigned front fascia with an integrated skid plate, dark-finish exterior trim, black roof rails, a power sunroof and black faux-leather upholstery.
Canadian consumers can expect the 2023 Hyundai Palisade to begin arriving at dealerships this summer. Pricing has not yet been announced.
